Pest Control 101 > Crickets |
|||
CricketsCrickets feed on just about anything. This includes dead insects, live insects, fabric, paper, wood, and just about anything we eat. You can also expect to have them nesting around moist areas where water accumulates or where mold and algae may be growing.Crickets also love to eat the glue which holds wallpaper onto walls. If they have their way, they will continue to feed in this area eventually consuming the wallpaper itself. In addition to the damage crickets do, they can also make a lot of noise. Crickets living in outdoor areas provide a sound of nature which people like. But, once these same crickets move into your home, the noise becomes irritating. Expect the crickets to be loud at night. Crickets are nocturnal and do their feeding and singing when it is dark outside. Ideally, you want to keep the crickets outdoors and away from your home. Sprinkling Maxforce Insect Bait Granules in an 8 to 10 foot band around the perimeter of your home will help the crickets away. Sprinkle a little more around air conditioner units and gutter downspouts because they provide moisture that the crickets like. You may want to use a Granule Spreader to evenly distribute the granules. If the crickets are found indoors, spray a diluted solution of Cypermethrin with a Pump Sprayer. Simply pour a little of the Cypermethrin concentrate into the Pump Sprayer, add water to reach the proper mixture according to the label, and spray around the baseboards of your home. Cypermethrin is a safe odorless product that works for several other kinds of insects too. It won't hurt your family or your pests. Having the peace and quiet to get a good nights sleep is priceless. |
